Acquisitive art prize since 1947 - winning entries added to the Mosman Art Collection, which in itself is an important survey of Australian art since the prize began.
Notable past winners include Lloyd Rees, Margaret Olley, Guy Warren And Nancy Borlase. Tim Storrier, Edmund Capon and John Olsen have been past judges.
The Allan Gamble Memorial Art Prize will be awarded to the best painting which explores the theme of the 'built environment'.
