The venue for the Easter Exhibition this year is the Wonthaggi Town Hall. The show will run for 9 days this year, over two weekends. This year’s exhibition will be themed. We decided to make this change to encourage participants to make work specifically for this exhibition and to create a more cohesive environment, with all the artworks responding in their own way to a single theme. The theme for this year's exhibition is ‘Concealed and Exposed’.
We invite a broad interpretation in any of the listed mediums, however artworks submitted must address this theme either formally or conceptually. Prizes will be awarded on the night for the following categories:
Two-dimensional (painting, drawing, printmaking etc) Three-dimensional (sculpture, installation etc) Photography Emerging Artist Peoples Choice As many of you will be aware, the Bass Coast ‘Your Art Collection’ (YAC) prize of $1000 will be awarded to the Best in Show, and the artwork will be subsequently entered into the overall YAC competition, with the chance to win a grand prize of $5000 and acquisition by the Bass Coast Council. Winners in the remaining four categories will be awarded $500 each. The People's choice award will be announced at the end of the show.
