For over thirty years, the World of WearableArt Awards Competition has invited designers, artists and creators from all backgrounds and walks of life around the globe to create the unimaginable, to challenge the conventional and defy creative expectations as they make works of art that will be brought to life in the most extraordinary of ways in the annual WOW Awards Show.

Prizes:

The World of WearableArt competition offers multiple prizes and awards to exceptional entries in different categories. The most prestigious prize, the Dame Suzie Moncrieff Award, is awarded to the overall exceptional entry. Other categories include Aotearoa, Avant-garde, Open, Architecture, Mars & Beyond, Gold, and Bizarre Bra. Winners of the first, second, and third prizes receive NZ$6,000, NZ$3,000, and NZ$1,500 respectively. The competition also offers awards for first-time entrants, student innovation, wearable technology, sustainability, New Zealand design, international design, Weta Workshop emerging designer, and residency experience. The winners of these awards receive various amounts of prize money and other opportunities such as residency experiences and travel prizes.
